About Us

The North Berwick Community First Responders (NBCFRs) group was established in 2008
and the NBCFR charity registered in 2015.

Our aim is to respond to life threatening emergencies within our community and bridge the gap between a 999 call being made and the arrival of a Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) ambulance.

Additionally, we contribute to the development of resilient communities by delivering appropriate training and awareness in by-stander Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of defibrillators to indviduals and community groups.

To the end of June 2026 our volunteer responders have contributed over 260 hours of their time assisting the communities of the North Berwick Coastal area.
